Did you know that Nashville is one of the fastest-growing cities in the country? The temperate climate, friendly locals and notoriety from the hit television show Nashville have made this city a hot spot for people looking to make a jump. Nashville is also a huge voice in the healthcare industry and has a growing technology community as well, and the fun options for entertainment add to the appeal. If you're new to the area or are preparing to move here, we put together some great options to enjoy a true Nashville summer (with or without kids).
CMA Music Festival
In June of every year, Nashville residents and out-of-towners alike get ready to party! The CMA Music Festival is four days of great music, with headlines this year including Miranda Lambert, Keith Urban, Blake Shelton, Chris Young and newcomer Kelsea Ballerini. Groups that you can catch on the big stage or meet up close are Florida Georgia Line, Lady Antebellum and Rascal Flatts to name a few. From June 8-11, 2017, you'll enjoy free entertainment, outdoor activities, interactive games, and even have the opportunity to meet your favorite artists up close and get their autograph.
Fourth of July
Nashville goes all in for the Fourth of July, and 2017 is no different! In 2016, Nashville was known for having the largest fireworks show in the nation, and it certainly did not disappoint. The free downtown concert and fireworks show is a great destination for families and friends of all ages, with the Grammy-winning Nashville Symphony providing the music with an original medley or songs choreographed to the dramatic fireworks show. The fun starts at noon on July 4, with a concert featuring the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Jonny P, The Sisterhood and Chris Young.
Parks and Recreation
"Take me out to the ballgame" - If these are your favorite words, then you're in for a treat! Our Nashville Sounds baseball team offers events throughout the year for you to enjoy. Our local AAA team is an Affiliate of the Oakland Athletics, and you'll love the new stadium downtown. If you prefer a nice walk through a beautiful trail or picnic area, our lovely Riverfront Park or Centennial Park may be more your style. Don't forget to check out the Parthenon with its massive golden statue of Athena. If you've got kids, check out the Frist Center for Visual Arts and the Adventure Science Center. Nashville has opportunities for learning and fun around every corner!
